FAQ'S for Sleep Coaching Your Baby or Child

Which sleep coaching technique is best for my situation?

There is no one perfect approach or one perfect method. Over more than 30 years, I have discovered what works and what does not work for different age groups and different sleep issues. I will help you take the guesswork out of sleep training. My goal is to minimize the tears and ensure you reach your goals while feeling confident, no matter what time of day or night.

Is there a perfect time or age for sleep coaching our child?

The perfect time for sleep training is when you feel like your family unit is not at its happiest. If you have exhausted all efforts and are still exhausted and frustrated, it’s time to reach out. Some clients also engage my services simply because they want the confidence of having me guide them in setting up great sleep habits from the start.

How long will it take to achieve our goals?

Usually, success arrives in a few days and nights. With my gentle sleep coaching method and settling techniques, your child will understand what you expect within the first 3 days. While no one can promise a 100% result in under 48 hours due to individual anomalies, with your commitment and consistency, you can achieve your goals very quickly—often in under one week!

Do you work with multiple children in one family?

Yes, all the time! As a mother of twins myself, I am constantly working with multiples and siblings to help the whole household achieve better sleep.

What about the “4 month sleep regression” or setbacks?

Between 3 and 6 months, babies become more aware of their surroundings and experience major developmental strides (like rolling over). This can be a challenging time, but we can navigate it easily. Whether it's physical or mental development interfering with sleep, I have many tools to offer to keep you on track for optimal results.

I want to be there for my child. How do I know I am doing the right thing?

If you simply do nothing during crying, it’s abandonment. I would never suggest that. You will give your baby tons of love, cuddles, reassurance, and comfort during the changes. Don’t let anyone pressure you into leaving your child to scream for hours or tell you they shouldn't be picked up. There simply is no need for that.
